Oh how I love Elizabeth Lim, and the world of Lor'yan and especially Edan and Maia! My heart is aching and I am STRESSED AF going into book two.

I love how the plot and details of Spin the Dawn overlap with the world of Six Crimson Cranes!!

Altogether, this was a pretty good book! I liked the magic system of the world and the characters! You can definitely tell that this is one of Lim’s first books, however. Still, it was great to see how Spin the Dawn walked so that Six Crimson Cranes could fly. It was also nice to get some more insight in the world itself!

I enjoyed the book. I was 70% done with it when I got into a reading slump though. I had read the other 3 books the author had written and I liked those more than her 1st book. I think I and high expectations to be wowed by her debut just as much as I had been by her other series.

I like adventure books so I still enjoyed it a lot. I think I just wanted to like the characters more. The main character was ok but I feel like she didn't have a lot of voice compared to the characters from the author's 3 other books.

I enjoyed it. Although it felt as though I'd read it before.

Wonderfully written story. Lyrical writing, great characters, and a deep, beautiful love story that felt believable and had me rooting for them and crying for them.
