This is an important book, not only for parents but educators and anyone who works with children. That said, I was disappointed to find such an American focus in the book. This is also true of Kendi’s other books. While this is his chosen focus and one that extremely important for his chosen audience, I want to read this material through a Canadian lens. I really want a Canadian academic (or other expert) to do something similar speaking to experience of racism and antiracism in Canada. Our country has a different history with race and racism but that doesn’t make the conversation any less important. Someone please pick up Kendi’s torch here in Canada!

It’s informative but I think if you’ve read any of his other texts, it could feel a bit repetitive. I think this would be a great first book to read if you’re starting to learn about antiracism

A must read for anyone who raises children, educates children, or makes decisions that shape the world in which children live in.

Ibram X. Kendi's writing style was phenomenal in this book. While some of the concepts were familiar to me, I learned something new in each chapter that will not only help me raise my kid to be antiracist, but just be a better parent to him. I appreciated that Kendi weaved in stories from his own experiences as both a child and a parent. Highly recommend to all parents.
