This one seemed like it ended very rushed and wrapped up in a clean bow....too clean. I wanted so much out of this book and at the end it was just...meh. After 16 books I was expecting fireworks and swarming cops and gun fire and it seemed more like 300 pages of dragging for the book to finish up in 30 pages. Also the big reveal wasn't even a big reveal for me (I never bought that you know who was gone) unlike other books where I finished and literally my mind was spinning trying to figure out where it all came from. Life was too good and I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the road a follow up sequel came about.

I will say that I was beyond happy Wren made another appearance! He's always been my favorite. So that was a definite plus. But all in all, this one was slightly disappointing.

I read this after the series finale of the TV show which made it a little easier to separate the two. This was a whirlwind from start to finish and it wrapped up the series nicely. Thinking that Emily had killer herself was horrible, and then her reveal was wonderful. It was better than if Ali had been found before the trial. Nick's testimony was amazing and I'm surprised that it was not enough to sway the jury. I cannot believe that Aria ran away, that Noel actually found her, and that he was made at her for being paranoid. I thought Spencer really was going to run away and am glad that she finally thought better of it. Hanna and Spencer fighting in the midst of everything was horrible; they needed each other but emotion got in the way. Mike was wonderful through all of it; and the fact that they actually got married was surprising but sweet. Aria and Noel making up, for real, was nice. I'm more happy that Spencer and Melissa are still together than I am about Spencer and Wren. As for Emily, I'm glad that she's going to be in her babies life but I could care less about her current relationship. Ali's ending seemed so very Ali; stuck in a psych ward, again, planning her revenge, again. At least this time she will not be able to succeed.

Spoilers ahoy!

First, i just have to say: thank God this series has finally ended. It even says so at the end of the book. I feel proud of myself for having stuck it out from the beginning.

Since, at the end of the last book the girls were arrested, I thought this was going to be some kind of thrilling court room drama, but alas, it as not. It was actually more about what the girls were up to besides being on trial. Like trying to catch Alison, getting married, or dying. I couldn't believe Emily died! I was so sad for her, especially since she was the far most tormented of the girls.

However, I did not like how fast it seemed the others got over her death. Yes, she turned up alive later, but I didn't know that. Aria, Hanna and Spencer hardly grieved at all for Emily. It was like she didn't matter.

This book gets three stars solely for the sheer joy I felt when Alison was finally caught! Reading that that bitch was finally behind bars was really satisfying. Now, let's hope to God she stays there!

Honestly, I don't understand why the tv series went with that shoddy finale I mean this one was 1000000x better anyways there are like so many reasons why you should read the books instead
1. They didn't make Emily completely useless and actually gave her like a life
2. Ezra is irrelevant (hate that guy)
3. The whole series isn't just about who's A I mean it would've dragged on as much as the tv show did if it was
4. It's more realistic I mean it's still crazy but the fact that it's more realistic made it so much more scarier
5. The villain is so much better
6. There isn't as much plot holes compared to there being like 5 in every episode of the show
7. Ravenswood doesn't exist
8. Paige doesn't exist
9. Spencer's twin doesn't exist
etc etc

basically the story is just so much better then the series and like I could go on and on about it. The only major problem for me is that Caleb doesn't exist like Caleb was always my favourite character from the show so like that was a disappointment but at the same time Hannah is so different from how she is in the show so I kinda got over it.

I never thought I'd say this but Emily is definitely my favourite liar at least from the books.
adventurous dark lighthearted mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

FINALLY ! I started this series almost ten years ago and I can't believe I finished it. The twists were predictable but it was entertaining.

Let's just sit here for a moment and relish in the fact that this series is over. Done with. Half of me is thinking, "THANK GOODNESS," and the other half is thinking, "Dang it." Although the series was definitely up and down, I am so glad I read it. UGH. That's not even a real word, just a guttural throat noise made to show disgust, awe, and wonder. All at once, or singly.
This was my favorite book of the series. No A. No actual villain. Just the girls, just the ending. And it was perfect. Okay, I called the plot twist before I was even supposed to think of that, but hey, I don't care. I read this in under 8 hours, which is intense, considering it is one of the...longer ones (a total of 340ish pages). Sara Shepard is a good author, and I am going to continue to read her stuff.
However, now I am on to other books. It was a good five months, PLL. Good five months. *Bows* You were a formidable foe of 16 books and I conquered you, while being thoroughly entertained most of the way.

And one final thing... WHY DID SARA SHEPARD CHOOSE THE LAST THREE BOOKS TO ACTUALLY MAKE THE GIRLS LOVEABLE. I said it. I fell in love with them. I actually fell in love with them, and I cared for them. Good job. A little late, but good job, Sara Shepard. You did it. Only took 13 books, but HEY!

a solid ending to a shaky (at times) series.

Wow I can't believe this series actually ended!

I'll tell you my over all opinion on this book because I want to avoid spoilers! (maybe I'll add a more detailed review later)

It was a nice book, entertaining like the rest of the series. BUT compared to previous books in the series this one lacked epic twist and unforseeable revelations (like in book #8 or the end of book #15). What happened just felt to easy to trick the evil mastermind Alison DiLaurentis. But anyway this book had a lot of cute, sad and a few thrilling scenes. What I personally liked was that the most important people that were featured in the previous books were either woven into the story or at least mentioned in this book (like Maja, Wren, Ezra, Violet, the people who died, ect.). And I loved who turned out to be the hero of the story!

I give the book three stars because it was a quick and easy read but I think I have out-grown this series. I'm glad that this has ended because I was finding some of the things in it very unreal and stupid.

I will not elaborate on the stupid things because I don't want to spoil anyone but it is almos everything Hanna and Aria do in this book. I didn't mind Spencer or Emily that much, I think they were OK.

All in all, I have enjoyed the series and I am quite satisfied with the ending.
