Ahhh the closure wasn't there!! LOVED the book, LOVED the series, LOVE the show, but I was hoping for some more finalization here!! But yaaaay!
A very predictable ending but this book was still fun to read, a page turner - the characters really have gone through character development throughout the series and I like where they all end up; very fitting for their individual goals but also for their growth.
Been thinking about this review for a while. I didn't like 85% of this book honesty but the end was great. So I have lots of mixed feelings. I loved this series but the last book didn't do it justice.
IT'S FINALLY OVER. I'm so relieved. I almost gave this book 5 stars because I was so happy that the Pretty Little Liars series was done.
The way this ended worries me a little - it feels as if Sara is trying to keep it open so that she can add more to it. What more is there to add?! How could there be any more mishaps, close calls and A notes..?
I hope it's not the way it reads; maybe it's an "open to interpretation" kind of ending!
But I'm finished with the series now... It's been a long time coming but it's done.

4.5. This was a good ending. I just wish there was one last twist.
after 10 years, I have finally finished this series. thank god.
This is it! THE END (or is it? ;) Unlike some other PLL fans, I only started reading the books a couple of years ago (yeah, I saw the TV show before ever reading the books). I know some people have been reading these since the beginning (2006) and are understandably annoyed that the series went on for this long. Well, now we're here at book 16 and this is supposed to be the actual end.
Sara Shepard's books are a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't know what it is, but they're very addictive! I love the over-the-top plots and suspense. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like PLL 16 quite delivered. I was expecting this book to be all about the girls going after Ali, but instead I got a book full of the girls angsting about going to prison and the main focus seemed to be everyone's love life. Ugh. I really don't care...sorry. I don't read Pretty Little Liars for the romance element, I'm here for the mystery! I don't mind the romance element too much, generally, but I wasn't a fan of the direction of the relationships in here... The only romance subplot that didn't completely bother me was Aria and Noel, but their storyline didn't really cover any new ground between them. All in all, the only girl's storyline I actually enjoyed was , but we didn't get to see enough of it!
Unfortunately, I thought this was a really disappointing conclusion. To be honest, book 8 made a much better end to the series. I was expecting more A/Ali stuff in book 16, and there really wasn't a lot of it. Oh well. That's not going to stop me from starting [b:The Perfectionists|20549288|The Perfectionists (The Perfectionists, #1)|Sara Shepard|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1399077994s/20549288.jpg|37097349] :]

Spoiler
Hanna and Mike get married? Really? Really? Isn't Mike like 16 or something? And Spencer got back with Wren? Couldn't she find someone new, like Emily does? Wren is a little weasel - I kept expecting to find out he was a secret Ali Cat :/Spoiler
