Loved a lot of the stories - lots of fun and creative stuff. For the stories I enjoy less, they may have been better outside of this collection: lots of the themes and motifs repeated themselves across the collection and so the stories I liked less seemed a bit repetitive. But I enjoyed almost all of them a lot!

I love fairy tales with a bit of bite, but these were seriously dark. It was almost as if the writing prompt included the line "bonus points for rape."
That said, some of the stories were excellent. I particularly liked Anne Bishops' --- I'm going to have to give her novels another try.

This is the fifth? in a series of books comprised of short stories, all of which are re-tellings of fairy tales for adults. I wasn’t very wild about this one. Most of the stories seemed to go for the shock value more than anything else.
