This book was not the best, I didn’t like it that much. Some of the words were weird or hard to understand. The storyline wasn’t my favorite.

I prefer the Illiad. Achilles is way more understandable and less(?) of a hypocrite when it comes to his wife and lover. Seriously, Ody why do you question your wife's commitment to you when you bed everything with legs on your long ass journey home?

I want to preface this review with I really love mythology, specifically Greek mythology. I did actually enjoy this. There were parts that I did have some issues with but overall I had a really good time with it. (Even the parts that I found irritating. I would just inform the characters why they were being irritating. Much the to the annoyance of my cat.) I loved reading the source for so many of the retellings that I have read and loved through the years (specifically Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters). And, even with all of his flaws, I liked reading Odysseus's story. He can be arrogant and prideful and makes dumb decisions because of it. He's struggling to get home after being at war for 10 years and the gods are both helping and hindering his journey. This was still an undertaking, but if your curious about Odysseus and what to hear it from the source, I think it's worth the read.
