This ends in a cliffhanger, and the 4th* book in the series, which was supposed to pick up where this one ends, is in publishing purgatory and possibly will never be released. Proceed at your own peril.

* There is a 3rd book but it's a novella focused on secondary characters and doesn't resolve the ending of this book

THIS IS HOW YOU DO A SEQUEL!!! The tension, the plot progression, the tearing apart the lovers only to (thankfully) bring them back together not too long later, the banter, the spice! THE SPICE!! It was so well written and just the right amount of it for me. I loved it all. Also didn’t expect to ever like Neri, but here I am loving him and his witty banter😩 This book is very well done and the cliffhanger had me on edge! It wasn’t a full on 5 star read for me I don’t think but at least like a 4.75!

I had a lot of expectations going into this book after reading and absolutely loving the first however I found it difficult to get into. The second half of the book is a lot better, but I don't think anything will be the first one.

There was slightly more plot, world, and character development in this one verses the first, but there are still some things I’m confused about or just feel we’re absolutely unnecessary. This one kept me engaged more than the first one did though, and I am interested to see what happens in the next.
