Pretty fun and short Halo story. I liked the video game Halo 3: ODST; it was great getting to know the human-covenant war from the perspective of soldiers who weren’t Spartans.

“Halo Helljumpers” is the sort of origin story of two of the main characters from Halo3 ODST; Dutch and Romeo. The story is supposed to show some character development in the two ODST's before the events of Halo3 as it takes place years before. Though it’s very light on the development of the characters or the story of the mission for which the book takes place. I also thought how the characters personalities are very out of place when compared to the very same characters in the ODST game. As Romeo is light hearted down to the mission sniper, in the game. While Dutch is the explosive using jokester of the squad. This is completely different in the book and they don’t match up to me at all.
