The usual...still I'd like to see Lassiter get what's coming to him!

Mae is determined to bring her dead brother back to life, and she is looking for this ancient book to help her find the right spell. Sahvage is an immortal vampire who has been hiding his identity from the Black Dagger Brotherhood for centuries. He is instantly attracted to Mae, and he agrees to help Mae find the book. I am really enjoying the Devina as an evil villain. This book is setting up the stories of Lassiter and Rahvyn (Sahvage's cousin) and Balthazar and Erika.

This book was ok. The point of view changes just about every chapter which I’m personally not a fan of, it’s too excessive given how short the chapters are as well. The sex scene was laughable, literally. It’s overly descriptive in a way that reads like a naïve virgin’s manual. Dashes and ellipses are used way too often. There is dinkus uses in places that make zero sense. But the big kicker is how fast everything all moves. The FMC and MMC just happen to fall in love with each other without knowing much of anything of the other. On top of it being within days of only knowing the other. I also found myself skimming and skipping over a lot of filler.

Pulling Brothers out of everywhere makes this entry in the series a little less believable, but it does set up romances for Balz and Lassiter.

Totally loved this!!! And from this, I am expecting a love story about Lassiter and his white haired angel and Balthazar and his cop. Can't wait for the next series.
P.S is it weird if I actually feel pity for Davina? Even just a little??

I liked it but mostly for Baz, Lassiter and those two new female leads
