I seem to be suffering from books that fall flat lately, including this one. Which is such a shame, because I enjoyed the aunt and the way the story was going. The twist though, at the end, left me dumbfounded and confused and the ending just felt so rushed and unsatisfying. I still enjoyed it overall, though, so that's why I'm giving it a 4 star. It was close to a 5 star until that sudden twist.

Maybe Monster Blood 2 will explain a little more about the twist? I sure hope so, or else I might have to change my mind about these ratings.

The writing in this was on par with the first book, Welcome to Dead House. I still like the atmosphere and the overall story of that one, compared to this. And I wasn't left dissatisfied at the end in that one, compared to this one. That ending has really flabbergasted me...

One of the best goosebumps book that I have read! Loved the building up of fear and what would happen next. Found the ending a little fastly written, but it was a good read!

The worst Goosebumps book I read this year, as a whole lot of nothing happens before rushing 90% of the plot into the last chapter. Even still, it was a two bathroom trip book, and had some okay tension.

Evan is at his great aunt's house.  Kathryn is deaf and has been for quite some time and has not learned sign language or read lips.

Evan meets Andy a kid on the block and the two make their way to an old toy shop, that's where they find the monster blood.  Everything is normal at first till Evan's dog eats some of it then he begins to grow and so does the stuff. Evan and Any try to contain the blood but to no avail.  Then they try to give it back to the store owner only to find it closed.

That's when Any and Evan find out that the blood was cursed to grow as they encountered a pony-sized Trigger.  All caused by Sarahbeth, the house cat, who didn't want Evan in her home.  Sarahbeth has taken a hold on Kathryn making her deaf and controlling her.  Trigger causes Sarahbeth to fall into the monster blood casing the curse to be broken and the blood shrinking until nothing is left.

Not a total favorite of Stine's work.  I found the dig acting more like a puppy rather than a very old dog.  Then ending was interesting.
