This is a little joy of a book! I've been hoping to find it at a book shop for ages, as the title is brilliant, and I was finally successful. It's a little book, and a simple one, where the narrator gets back in touch with old Mrs Brucker from Hamburg, in an attempt to discern whether it was her that invented the German favourite currywurst in the final days of World War II. It's a simple, human tale, with human, a small touch of despair, and a little bit of history. Quick, quirky and fun.

Another one of those books we read in school. I suppose it was a well enough read, but certainly nothing special and at some places I couldn't quite catch the sense of it all. I'll probably not read it again.
This was the first time I ventured beyond my little bubble of well-known things and attempted to read a German book. Albeit a small one, I consider it a victory.
The book itself was about forbidden love and how it lead to the recipe of the currywurst. A funny title and idea, in my opinion, but I did enjoy it. It was sweet.
