It's a pretty straightforward and simplistic introduction to...folk and fairy tales. Which presumes the whole oral history thing which Bottigheimer would dismantle a few years later, but oh well. It's useful as a point of reference, particularly with the way it organizes fairy and folk tale authorities based on what kinds of perspectives they take, and the extensive bibliography and index.
