Honestly loved this book so much I can’t believe I haven’t read it sooner. Obviously don’t love all of the language in it but man… what a great story.
was absolutely gutted when Tom was found guilty and then died

I think this book can be considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest book of all time. I've read it a few times and I always found it such an amazing piece of work. The plot is timeless, even to this day. The way it brings together childhood innocence and the evils of humanity is extremely well done. I loved Scout and Jem, you could easily picture them in your head and Scout's narration was great. Would love to read this book another time at some point in life.

Obviously a classic so it’s good. Southern setting felt homey and I think it does a good job of talking about racism and sexism for it’s time. Not perfect since it’s set in 1930s Alabama but I do think it’s effective. Other books like Secret Life of the Bees and The Help try and fail to do what To Kill a Mockingbird had already done.
