POV:
You’re an innocent v!rgin and he’s an infuriating a-hole who takes whatever he wants … even if that’s your face. You should hate him but seem … reluctantly intrigued by and attracted to him…

This prompted some thought, as I decided whether I liked it—I do like books that make me think, so this isn’t a bad thing.
She isn’t his ‘usual type’, and he isn’t exactly our usual morally gray MMC, he’s sort of psychotic, and extremely intelligent, self-aware and objective. Honestly, this is done all the time, but without objectivity … I’m always down for a little twist from the ‘usual’. His character is one I normally read in serial killer / murder-mystery type reads, not romance, even dark romance so, a little different. Plus, he loves his mom and respects both of his parents—I’ve never seen this in a serial killer type lead before.
Well, I had to see what all the hype was about and this started out as mildly intriguing. I did have to roll with some loose continuity, for example when he f!ng3rs her and “…I felt her hymen…”.

Overall:
It’s very slow-paced and I struggled to find much in the way of plot, I can’t say it’s “pure smex” either though, as there was a lot of slice-of-life shown. Not bad by any means, not my jam and I didn’t like it enough to bother w/ the rest of the series. I’ll explore more from this author though, I mostly liked the vibes.

This book grabbed me by the throat and would not let me go. I pretty much finished it in one sitting. Enjoyed everything except for the fmc. She was boring and pretty much lacked personality for the whole book. Her man made up for it.

Look, I’m down for some good CNC but this didn’t feel like CNC. MMC TOLD FMC she wanted to be treated the way that she was. I am very pro-exploring kinks but this was less exploring and more exploiting. Didn’t love the dynamics.
