I wanted to get into this book but it is just to much like every single other book like it I have read. I needed something to make it stand apart and I just couldn't find it.

This series is definitely going to be five-stars! Blood Trinity in particular, however, is truly ranked at a four star for just one tiny reason: the world is HUGE!

Overall, I absolutely adored this story! Evalle in particular is, and no doubt will continue to be, a fascinating character. Her counterparts, Quinn and Tzader, are equally compelling, fun, and all out alpha to the extreme. There are so few books on the market that allow readers to overwhelmingly care about the characters to the point that one is able to love the story despite any apparent flaw.

Blood Trinity's only negative against it deals with the fact that it's somewhat confusing. There are so many different types of species of characters, different powers and cultures that didn't feel truly explained. However, I'm completely confident such will be extrapolated upon at a later date in subsequent novels. This is, after all, the first book in a new series. Diana and Sherri will no doubt clear the air on any confusing issues remaining over what exactly Beladors and Altarants are and from where they derive.

Still, despite this one flaw, this book was so entertaining! I'm left completely enthralled with this story and am thrilled about the next book. I adore the fact that this is a continuing story, which is very surprising since I'm not that big a fan of extrapolated story-lines. The series is absolutely going to be amazing, for there are so many plot lines, characters, and emotions left unexplored! Vyan, Sen, Isak, Storm - Feenix, Evalle, Quinn, Tzader - the list of awesome people in this book is truly endless!

Books that are so entertaining are truly downright impossible to review. Having been so caught up with the story and characters, it's so difficult to separate my consciousness from the book and evaluate it without a lot of apparent hyperbole. But who cares! I loved the book, I loved the story, and that's all that matters!

Strong mixed feelings about this one.

First, IMO, very few books do well with two authors and this one proves the rule. In contrast, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (Good Omens) are the exception. While I have enjoyed Ms. Kenyon’s other books, I did not feel like this one lived up to her normal standards. And I think that’s because of the second author, who I’d never heard of before this book. Nor will I seek out any of her other works.

While I like the premise of the book, I did not like the stereotypical “tough” female MC with trust issues & to prove her badassery, rides a motorcycle. There is some backstory given to why she has trust issues, but a lot is left unanswered. I’m all for slowly developing a character’s backstory, but in this instance, there wasn’t enough. I also felt the MC came across a bit wooden and lacked dimension.

The other big problem I had was the lack of world building. The prologue starts in Utah and the main action takes place in Atlanta. Okay, so clearly relating to our real world. But the world has demons, majik (I hate magic spelled with a “k”), tribes, and supernatural beings, as well as was also a mash-up of gods and cultures—Hindu, Celtic, and who knows what else because nothing about the world is adequately explained. I just had to go with flow and guess. Clearly, based on the tribes, this world has existed with “majik” for a long while. But give some explanation. For example, a better explanation of VIPER (always capitalized and therefore an acronym? Again, who knows?).

I will read book 2, mainly because I want to try to figure out this world. But I get the sense that this book was written more my Ms. Love and Ms. Kenyon’s name maybe has more to do with marketing and sales because again, this book does not meet the standards of her other series.

I dont really know how I felt about this book. Normally I love this author (and pairing) but this one was irritating if it wasnt for me wanting to find out more about Isak and Storm, I would not want to finish this series. The internal monologue was repetitive, dumb, and irritating. Although I still plan on trying to finish the next installment, i am not running out and desperately searching for this book anytime soon.

Very nice book, again with a very strong female heroine, she can fight, and take care of herself.
Very different mythology, as well as different paranormality than what I'm used to.
I really liked it, and hope there will be more Belador books.
