To all the 1 star reviews from cishet readers— the book is not for or about you. Hard concept to grasp for many of you but jfc pull yourselves together. ALSO, seeing an alarming amount of you whine about sex scenes in this book… t4t sex scenes at that. This may come as a shock to you self professed allies but trans people are allowed to have libidos— even at the end of the world. Even at the end of the world we will create some modicum of community and joy and you will just have to fucking deal with it.

honestly might have been a bit too fast paced for me because I kept having to go back and figure out what I missed, but lovely queer anarchy overall

LOOOOOOVE me a trans book about trans subjects, such as transphobic fascism (so just fascism) and the political realities of our existence when confronted by people who use our bodies and vulnerability for their advantage.

I went into this book very excited so my disappointment might be associated with some expectations. But who doesn't go into a book without expectations of it being great? That's every book.
The good: The beginning with three characters that I was looking forward to learning more about. The end when there was human emotion and sadness within a micro view of those people.
The not good: For most of this book a connection to those main characters and their journey (which could have made this very touching) was lost in a sea of meaningless characters and sex.
A good editor could take this and work the character and plot arc so that we could have gone on an emotional journey that would possibly be a darker new take on the post apocalyptic world.
It was not this.
