This book was so good and impossible to put down.  I love JP Beaumont and how he never gives up.  I can't wait for his next story.

I enjoy JA Jance's books but tend to find the JP Beaumont series a bit hit and miss.  This was definitely one of the better ones!

Right on the cusp of the Covid lockdowns, JP is asked a favour by someone he can't say no to, and finds himself looking into a drug related death that the family members are sure was murder.  As he digs deeper he finds related cases and ends up on the trail of a serial killer.

I didn't like how one chance mention of a name by a neighbour solved the case, too far fetched for me, but I do enjoy JP's thought processes and his interactions with his teenage grandson were a fun addition

I received this book in a giveaway on Goodreads.

Once I started this book I didn’t want to put it down. This is a long series of books and I can tell you it hasn’t gotten rote or predictable. I’ve given up on several series because the books started being the same. I love that I was surprised by some of the twists and the book left me wanting more. I think I’m going back to book one to enjoy this series all over again. Thank you for a great read! I can’t wait for the next one.

I always go in blind to books and fail to research when it's a series. This is #26 to this series, but its good. It did confuse me a little bit because I am not familiar with the characters. Besides that you do not need to read the series to understand the plot. Beau is PI and former cop who investigates different cases to help people get closure. This case he only took as a favor and discovers a link between this case and many others. Once he puts it together things get interesting.

I loved this book so much!!!! I read it for the Brenda Novak book club and it was such a fun read!!! I loved playing along and trying to figure out who the suspect was! I think my only complaint with this book is as there were more suspects being introduced I had a hard time keeping track of who was who and there got to be so many characters it was hard to keep track of everyone I ended up having to flip backwards to try and find out when those characters were introduced and their backstory. The author did do a nice job of giving us a little information about each character in case we forgot who they were. I also loved the subtle humor about how Mel and Beau cannot cook at all and have to rely on takeout every night for dinner. If my husband couldn’t cook those two would be us! I hope she continues with the series and now I am going to have to read books 1-25 because I loved this one so much!
