3.5 stars! To bad it doesn't let you give half stars on this sight. I had seen a lot of my favorite authors reading this book so I decided it must be worth a shot. This was a wonderful start to a series I'm sure I'll enjoy. Perfect HEA novel which I was desperately in the mood for.

Kinsley a PR rep for the mayor has one tough job ahead of her. She is to tame the untamable Luke. She needs Luke to cooperate and Luke being the stubborn alpha man he is of course does not want to. Kinsley is coming off a really bad break up. While still dealing with getting over her bad breakup she has to make Luke look harmless in the eyes of the city and mayor. Luke would do anything for his family, he hasn't been taking his lieutenant test just so he can be close. If he takes that he will be out of their fire house. All of these siblings aren't actually siblings they are foster children taken in by the Dempsy's. So of course all of them come with lots of baggage. I really enjoyed the bickering between the family. It was so honest!

All in all a perfect HEA, chemistry, confusion, angst, love.. what else do you need??

Enjoyed this book in audiobook format.

I felt there was a lot going on in this week. A lot of characters and subplots that made it feel a little busy to me.
Nice amount of spice for the plot.

Gorgeous count: 22. (Maximum for a readable book is 3)
The 2010's of it all...
  • reference to Donald Trump as a billionaire businessman (instead of an insurrectionist/rapist)
  • gay character introduced as hot because "all the good ones are gay"
  • sexism
  • boss babe wears the highest heels and tight skirts

Wasn’t getting into the characters and there were way too many of them.

Ok. The sexy fireman calendar is a bit cliche, but it worked.

Flirting with Fire
Chicago fire we watch on tv, this is a story of one firehouse there as a woman tracks down Luke.
Kinsey is a press secretary for the mayor and he's avoided her phone calls. They also have a more personal relationship as well.
Luke had been suspended and was ordered to stay away from the firehouse.
She's looking for community work from him now...
Luke's sister and brothers had followed their father into the same career and they all worked at the same firehouse.
Story goes back in time to when his mother set the fire and he got adopted by the family and they raised him, keeping him out of foster homes.
Story also follows Gage who's gay and he attempts to get a boyfriend...
Hoped the story was more about the fire fighting techniques used in solving arsons, but it's more about politics and sex.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

My first Kate Meader novel, and I've since devoured the next two. The Dempsey Firefighting family makes for a great read. Luke is one alpha male and Kinsey is just the female to match him wit for wit.

I love a male who is so devoted to family and a woman who understands that is just right for him.
