Comparing the fact we could not go in pubs during the Covid with the trauma of the Shoah.... Touch grass, Amanda.
inspiring

Gorman has convinced me that Poets are modern day Prophets. They have the ability to look into the culture and call us to action. Gorman’s poems are pure art- literally some of the poems are printed very artistically. Most of the poems will bring back all the 2020 feels so brace yourself but they are written as a reminder so that hopefully this won’t happen again.

I am even more impressed with this young poet now than I was after reading her inaugural poem The Hill We Climb. This collection of various types of poems is incisive and deeply affecting. Amanda Gorman writes about contemporary issues with a long view of history. I look forward to reading more from her.

Not sure what happened with this one. I listened to the audiobook at normal speed and Amanda's narration just didn't seem to have a lot of feeling in it. The Hill We Climb was and is great. The other poems contained in this book aren't bad. Just really not what I thought they were going to be.

Absolutely gorgeous.
