there were a few standout poems that i really enjoyed but overall i did not like the flow of this book. i feel like it could have been edited differently or truly been split into 2 or 3 smaller collections. i’m excited to read more of her poetry as she grows as a writer but this really read like a college capstone, kind of meh.

Didn’t realize this was all about Covid. Didn’t enjoy it that much but the poetry was beautiful!

I'm not a huge poetry fan, but even I can objectively see the unparalleled talent in this individual.

It's best to read these aloud!

"We have learned our true names --
Not what we are called,
But what we are called
To carry forth from here.
What do we carry, if not
What & who we care most for."

I am obsessed with Amanda Gorman.

This was so good.

I bought this book at an used book sale, beautiful hardcover. But I had heard Amanda Gorman perform her poetry and the only downside was that I wouldn't hear it.
Enter Libby and audiobooks! She of course reads her book and it just elevates the experience!

I recently saw Amanda speak, and was truly moved. Her way with words and her way of making something so unknown and so scary feel so beautiful as the future is indescribable. This piece was no different. Truly, a beautiful work of art.

The author tried to give description of the poem visuals, but I feel that this book is best when not listen to in audiobook format.
