Ava is the personal assistant of famous actress Gwen Knight and must hide the fact that she is an alien superhero called Swiftwing. When Gwen asks her to fake a relationship with her, it becomes harder for Ava to hide who she really is. Oh, and she has a crush on her boss.

Sound familiar? I think it's been mentioned that this used to be a Supercorp fanfic, which isn't a bad thing. It stands on its own as a story, even if the aliens are a bit out there. The hidden identity trope definitely added entertainment to this story, as did the fauxmance aspect. I do wish it had been a bit longer, so we could have seen the story develop in more detail. But this was a sweet romance that left me loving both Ava and Gwen.

I would definitely recommend this if you're not afraid of a little sci-fi mixed in with the romance.

I don't normally jump into book number three in a series but this series is about separate stories and written by different people, so this seemed a good place to jump in.

Let me just say that I love Ava. She's such an empathetic and wonderful superhero and character. I loved the idea of an almost Clark Kent and Lois Lane relationship if Lois was Clark's boss, older and nobody's fool. I really enjoyed that the story was less about fighting bad guys and more about a superhero who cares enough to do the right thing and find a good solution to the problem, rather than just fight.

Lastly, I am a sucker for the inherent drama of a fauxmance so that was just the cherry on top.

I read this in a day! It's a good, quick read.

Celebrity, fake dating, superheroes? All favourite tropes of mine in one book? Yes please!!

Gwen is a famous actress and Ava is her personal assistant. She's also Swiftwing, LA's resident superhero. I got big supercorp vibes off this story, which is a plus for me!

The writing was easy to read, Ava and Gwen were good protagonists, and the side characters were good too.

I did think the climax wasn't really much of a climax but it was still a fun read! I'm going to check out the authors other work now!
