Kathryn Biel has written a heroine we can all relate to. A kind and caring person, Elizabeth lost her identity in the everyday tedium of being a wife and mother--until, at her lowest point, she's rescued, physically and, in a way, spiritually, by someone who knew her when she was a different person entirely.
Eventually she finds her way back to herself, but what I liked about this story was that Elizabeth's (re)growth as a person isn't dependent on the love of a man--in fact, she grows in spite of the men who influence her life. I can say no more without getting all spoilery, so I'll just leave it at that and close with the advice to read this book!
