I actually don't know if I should put this as a 2 or a 4.
I gave the book the stars based on the last third of it and the epilogue. I found the beginning of it to be extremely predictable and boring. I put down the book several months ago and picked it up again last night, determined to finish and find out why others loved it. The final third didn't disappoint.
Feeling very conflicted about this book. I enjoyed all the characters, but I don't feel like they were as developed as the characters in some of Liane Moriarty's other books. I would have liked to know them a little more. As it is now, I was left feeling incredibly sad for every single character.
Really enjoyed this book but nearly gave up on it a few chapters in, so glad I didn’t!
I found it to be quite confusing at first with lots of different characters and story swapping but I stuck with it. The book challenges life choices and decisions that can impact ourselves and others. The characters were relatable, often showing their flaws and vulnerability which I really enjoyed.
I’ve not read liane moriatys stories before but I’ll definitely explore some of the others now

I had guessed the "husband's secret" before even opening the book, but upon confirmation it was still fun to speculate about the rest of the story.
I really enjoy Moriarty's writing style. Following the three different story lines as they weaved in and out of each other helped keep the pace feeling paletable even though the whole story takes course over just 1 week.
She also does a really good job of creating complex well developed characters/relat onships and asking a lot of morally interesting questions. I found myself rooting for everyone, even the husband?!

This was a very good read. It made me contemplate the consequences of actions and inactions, the choices we make and the roads we did not take. I was very touched by the book. Also combined with its very heavy theme is its lightheartedness and its wittiness (a characteristic of every Moriarty book I've read) which makes it also a fun and easy read. Very well done.
