This book is based around two main characters, an elderly lady living in a sleepy Yorkshire village and her grandchild hustling in London. Both aren’t happy and so swap houses and duties for a few months (I say swap houses and not swap lives, because when I first read “swap lives”, I thought this was a body swap ala Freaky Friday kind of deal. It’s not).

Grandma goes to the big city, finds herself by making friends, building a community, helping those around her and having casual sex. Grandaughter goes to Yorkshire, drinks lots of tea, cools her shit for 93% of the book, then remembers in that this is supposed to be part romance and quickly rushes to find anyone within the appropriate age and 5 mile radius before the end of the book.

What I hated: Granddaughter and her love life was extremely infuriating.
What I loved: Grandma. And Yorkshire Tea. The best tea.

Overall, despite all the things that could be going right for it, my enjoyment went left for the few things that I didn't like.

I received an audiobook version of this book through Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

A young woman who has overworked herself is forced to take a two month sabbatical. When she discovers her grandmother who lives in a village in Yorkshire is looking for adventure they decide to switch places for two months. It's a cute story with likable characters shaking things up in a fun way. Light, bright summer reading.

A sweet, emotional story about a 79-year old and 29- year d switching places and experiencing different kinds of adventure.
It was a bit slow and emotional at places but i LOVED grandma Eileen❤️❤️
Leenas track was bland, uneventful and I just waited for Eileen’s side :)
The romance angle was a little beige too… but overall sweet read!

what a charming read!! can't deny that eileen the grandmother is my favorite & i loved her storyline the most, but altogether such a wonderful book. these characters are emotional, loving, whimsical, funny, creative, and so entertaining. the ending gave me FULL body chills!! head to toe!!!!

the only thing i absolutely hated about this audiobook was the inclusion of the sounds of the narrators swallowing or, like, licking their lips? i'm not sure if they were trying to make it more authentic, but it just sounded like their mouths were dry and they needed water or chapstick or something and i couldn't stop noticing it throughout my readthrough. almost took me out of it at times but i plowed through. for that -.25stars.
