Chose this book because I was in an airport and it was the ONLY audio book that wanted to load. I had read and enjoyed flat share by the same author and while this one had cute characters I just didn’t find it to be as gripping as I wanted it to be. The grandmother and granddaughter switch places for two months and end up switching friends as well. It is a heart warming story about starting over and staying true to yourself. I feel like I should have liked it more than I did. I am just not sure why I didn’t connect.

If you're having trouble reading (even though you usually love reading) during the pandemic, I prescribe some Beth O'Leary for what ails you. Just like The Flatshare, this did such a good job of delving into a hard topic with a light but meaningful touch. I would have liked a little more about Leena and Marion's sorting of their relationship, but that's a minor quibble when this is a book I was engaged with and excited to finish in a time where I'm really struggling with those two things!

A new fav for me. Such a heartwarming, feel-good read! Honestly, they should make a romcom of this

Although predictable, this was a DELICIOUS book! I loved the characters and their relationships!!!
I think I loved it even more than The Flatshare. So this one gets the 4.5 rating! Good job Beth O'Leary!

This book is amazing for lovers of The Holiday (2006). It’s a romcom about a grandmother and granddaughter house swapping for a short time. It was sweet and made me smile while also tugging on my heart strings too.

Brilliant read.

What a fun read.

First, I am not a fan of romance. I was worried about that when I picked this book up, but was intrigued by the plot line and thought it sounded like a fun read. Still, I had my cringe face ready.

I smiled my way through this whole book.

I loved the characters. I found them smart, engaging, likable. I wanted to meet them all. I wanted to invite them over for dinner and drinks, even bingo.

The dialogue was witty, engaging, and made me laugh out loud several times.

Did the love interests surprise me? Not really. The romance was as I predicted; yet, I found the story completely intelligent, engaging, and entertaining with NO CRINGE FACTOR, so that part was completely surprising! Love!!!

The ending was a bit rushed and was the only reason this book did not end up being a 5 star read for me. So much of the depth that carried through the first 2/3 of the book was lost at the end as things were quickly wrapped up.
