This story was amazing and perfect. I absolutely loved the rep, the artistic nerdiness, the characters, the plot, just everything. The relationship between Noah and Sage was just so incredibly realistic, warm, sappy, painful, adorable, just everything you enjoy reading in a romance book. I would really love a sequel just to find out what happens next in their life.

This book was very fun to read. I absolutely adore enemies to lovers, so I was happily sat with this book as the tension rose very quickly. I felt confident and comfortable with the characters quickly. I felt that the side characters were lacking a little bit in this book, only offering bits and pieces of general usual advice. Except for Sage's family, who was a little more fleshed out.

Sage is a very typical I can do it all type of human. I resonanted a lot with everything she was constantly trying to do to keep herself and her family afloat. I actually really liked the perspective of her having started back from a full breakdown. Instead of getting that in the book, which is more expected, we see her healing and reflecting on that, trying to change but still finding a bit of the same. I think her growth consistently is satisfying and feels good to read. She makes a very difficult decision for herself and her family that she knows is going to be painful and yet important. I liked her growth quite a bit. I also liked the conversation she ends up having with Noah about the teasing, how she needed to cool it a little bit with Noah being more senisitive. Sage felt really real and considerate, which I enjoyed.

Noah was a character I took longer to fully warm up to. She was bright and bubbly, but anxious and ready to prove herself. She also pushed herself too hard, ignoring her own pain and struggles trying to keep up with the expectations. I liked seeing her find vulnerablity in herself and Sage, I liked seeing her success. Her family drove me mad and it was very satisfying to see her tell them off.

five star read, Black sapphics and comics and softness and bubbline energy 🩷🖤

outdrawn is a rivals to lovers romance with comic artists who have been competing since college, first in classes then on a webcomic site. noah gets hired at the major comic company sage works at, which sage doesn’t take well, and their rivalry softens as they work together.

this is one of those books against which i’m going to compare other romances, because i loved watching noah and sage work through their own insecurities together and grow as their relationship deepened. they encouraged each other to stand up to their families in different ways and talked through problems. highly recommend settling into this one if you need a little softness right now.

tw: alcoholic parent; chronic wrist pain; mentions of bi- and lesbophobia; mention of suicide ideation; parentification; sex on page

I loved that they talked about important topics and how hard it is to be an artist and that you should put your health first! I loved it so much and the ending it was PERFECTION! The proposal was so cute with the comic on the wall and that they both proposed at the same day so adorable!!! I would recommend it!

it was too much spice for me. this book was a fun and entertaining read, very fluffy and sweet. i could be found kicking my lil feet throughout and i was so happy with the bi rep. all of the characters were so lovable! i see why people rate this higher, but it was just a fun read for me.
