While ordering Tomboy I also saw that Liz Prince had other books. I decided on this one (don't worry, I also bought all the others now that I read this one and Tomboy). And yes, until Tomboy I never heard of Liz Prince. It seems like a lot of other people knew here from years ago, either from (it seems) the internet or for her other books.

This one was really funny, ok, not always. Some parts just made me roll my eyes or shake my head. I normally am not one that minds bad language, but I didn't entirely expect in here so yeah it was a bit of a shock. However that shock was over quite quickly.

I have no clue if this is fiction/non-fiction. It is tagged as such, however I felt that some things were just a bit to bordering on not real. And if it is really all true, then I feel really sorry for her that she had to endure those times.

The humour is a bit self-deprecating, which depending on how it is done, can mean I love it or hate it. Luckily in this case I liked it though it made me cringe at times.

I loved her adventures in the trials of Ok Cupid and her trials with guys, she really has zero luck it seems. Though there were some cute guys, in the end they all turned out to be a bit weird or not really her type or some other reason.

I also laughed out loud during the cat parts. She is truly a forever-alone cat lady, doing some kind of silly dance and then booping her cat on his/her nose. :)

All in all I would really recommend this book to people, it is funny, however you will have to love self-deprecating humour and you also need to like the subject or have similar feelings towards dating. I know I did, some things that Liz did are things I did, or things that I felt (like the fact lots of her friends have someone they love).

Received from Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.

Netgalley had a lot of comic books up for grabs, so I went a little request crazy. This one looked especially fun, as I myself am part of the Singles Collection. I, too, have two cats, though also some other furry and scaley creatures. One is never truly alone when the tortoise is trying to take out the dry wall, the dog is ripping down the curtain rod, and the chinchilla is eating the paint off the wall behind his cage.

This book is charming. Not belly laugh funny, not even necessarily quiet chuckling funny. But some of the strips are good for a smile, and some are sweet and moving. Her experiences with OK Cupid in particular were terribly amusing.

I would like to see more by her, and will have to check out her website promptly.

'Alone Forever: The Singles Collection' is a showcase of the webcomics of Liz Prince. The comics are pretty funny and very self-deprecating.

Finding herself single, our character decides to try dating. This involves a series of missteps with online dating among other things. She seems to be attracted to boys with beards who are in to punk rock, which isn't a problem until she goes on a blind date and can't pick the right bearded guy out of a room. Her online dating escapades end in different hilarious failures, but to be fair, sometimes the problem is her. Her cats remain constant companions and sympathetic.

The art is cute, but the language and themes can be a bit rough at times, so it's not for kids or the easily offended. The characters are cute. The humor is pretty good and strikes the right tone without feeling pitiable or overly snarky.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Diamond Book Distributors, Top Shelf Productions and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

Hilarious and cheeky! Liz has an amazing sense of humour and great timing in her comics. It's a quick read but all of it is great. She may talk about a lot of womp womp moments but it definitely seems like she's got a great level of confidence, which is admirable. I bet everyone will have something to relate to in this book. So many cat lady moments too!

Liz Prince is so fun! Here’s a delightful collection of comics about the single life. She’s utterly relatable in these self-deprecating comics about cats and punk rock and cute boys. This one is great to read in one sitting with a glass of your favorite beverage (mine was cheap wine).

It's very interesting to go back and read some of these early works of Prince's AFTER I read Tomboy.

Here, Prince outlines some episodes from her early dating life - she's relateable, likeable, and real.
Pretty sure I ate this up in one sitting.

ARC provided through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Alone Forever is a collection of comic strips by the ever entertaining Liz Prince about being single, trying dates and the joys of OK Cupid. I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoy Liz Prince. I loved her memoir Tomboy and this was pretty damn entertaining too.

I don't think it's particularly ground breaking but as a fairly introverted, socially awkward person myself, I could definitely relate. And the OK Cupid ones were so damn perfect.

Overall, it's a fun and quick read. Well worth picking up if you're entertained by other people's dating troubles and the love of being single.
