i wanted to love this so much, but i just didn’t believe the MCs had *any* emotional connection. if it had been a tad longer of a story & timeline, i feel like that connection could have been cultivated but the on-page chemistry just wasn’t there for me. all we got was them saying in their inner monologue “omg i like her” but then not seeing much interaction between them that backed that up?? i don’t know. it wasn’t my fave but i didn’t absolutely hate it.

⚠️: lesbophobia, homophobia, racism, domestic abuse

Honestly I really didn’t read much in January and I remember when I did read this I wasn’t really in the mood for smut so I kinda skipped those scenes lol which is obviously not ideal for this book. I think that’s probably why I didn’t love it or connect with the characters as much as I expected but I still definitely want to read more of Adriana Hererra’s books cause I’ve heard really good things

Mangos & Mistletoe is a super-steamy sapphic romance. It centres on a holiday baking show set in a Scottish castle. Kiskeya and Sully, who are both Dominican, are paired up. And sparks fly. It was a fast fun read with some drool-worthy food descriptions, but was too short to allow for any depth or layered storytelling. Sexual chemistry was the only real connection I felt between the characters.

Didn't like the very little chemistry between the characters. Sexual chemistry was great. Also not a fan of insta love. Wish that the conflict was stronger and that the author had placed confrontation between the mc's and the Becca's. And that tiny emotional moment needed more time bc it was so short lived. 😢
