This was such a beautiful read. I related to a lot of the poems. I love Rudy’s work so much.

Edit: Highly recommended. Read books by black writers that aren't about race as well. And read their poetry. This collection is a masterpiece. Black voices matter

I'm learning
that I don't always
have to make noise
to be seen,
that even my silence
has a spine, a rumble
and says I'm here
in it's native tongue
All the stars for Rudy Francisco for writing something so beautiful, so powerful, so resonant with us. I can't thank you enough for putting this into the world. I could quote the whole book here because there's not one bad piece. But the ones I liked most were when he talks about himself, love and being black.

This book gave me a black eye and threw me over the side of a building.
I already can’t wait to read it again.
