I took my time reading this book. I didn't want to let the characters go Imma just say this now, Rue & Kamari has became one of my favorite book couples: Rue gave so much of her self to everyone around her. Kamari refused to let his past define him as a man. He comes into Rue life and gives her exactly what she needs...reciprocal love. He loves on her out loud and unashamed. Together they both heal the broken parts of themselves. I could go on & on about Rue and Kamari lol. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed the premise of the story. The pen pals to lovers is a trope I have been excited about for a while, but this one slightly missed the mark. I loved the flow of the story. It is very clear how Ruejae is, as a person, from the beginning of the book. I loved the amount of time Mycah spent depicting how giving and selfless Ruejae is. It makes me, as a reader, able to understand why she handles things the way she does and it allowed me to empathize with her. Unfortunately, her physical depiction was left to my imagination. There are some hints about her physical appearance but not enough to paint the whole picture. I enjoyed the flow and pacing of the story and there are some surprise nutcases in the book, which is always entertaining. Her love interest, Kamari is more of an enigma. He has more physical descriptions, but we don't get as much of an understanding of him, which makes it hard to connect to him. I had a great time seeing their love story unfurl. I was rooting for Ruejae's happily ever after because I felt more connected to her. Don't misunderstand, Kamari is still my man.
I do wish there were more letters, because that was my main anticipation when I saw the trope of the book. I also wished the adult scenes went into more detailed descriptions, however this is just because I enjoy reading smut.
