This is beautiful

I got this as part of RoAnna’s patreon when they reached 100 patrons, and this is one of my most anticipated works by them. It definitely did not disappoint and I will definitely be coming back to read this in the future.

The poem that stands out most is Acceptance, but there are amazing and powerful lines in every one in this collection. Highly recommend.

Content warnings: seems to be a central theme of dealing with grief/death

This poetry was exactly my cup of tea. It is lyrical, to the point, and just the right length. While I know poetry is entirely subjective, I am inn love with this style. The poems have words that come alive and talk about themes that speak to the crevices inside your heart.

And your name is the reminder, as I fall, to open my wings.

I was so distracted by the beauty of these poems that I didn't realise what the numbering/sections were for until the third one.

How have you been on your tightrope-walk between the stars?

Reading and rating poetry always feels strange to me because it's usually so much more personal than other types of work, but I adored the verbal images in this collection.

An inferno ignited by stained-glass windows. Angels with iridescent wings and psychedelic robes

While these poems were personal, they were also about emotions experienced by many people - and while I didn't find most of them personally relatable, I don't doubt that they could have an even bigger effect on others who dealt with similar grief.

You never even needed the forgiveness you craved, the redemption so sure you were too far gone to receive.

Lastly, every single one of these poems had that very distinct "RoAnna feel" that is difficult to describe, but I'd associate it with flying, strength in each other, and overcoming trauma.

Years later, I can breathe. And that is enough.
