I wish there was a follow-up book to see if she had her happy ever after!

3.75 A good story. I had not read any of the preceding books in the series, but didn’t find that impacted my understanding of the characters. I did start skimming through some of the detail and inner dialogues in the last quarter of the book. Just ready to get to the end! I do wish there had been an epilogue 5-10 years down the road. While some things were resolved, others weren’t. And I just don’t like that.

Everyone in Dell Jordan's life believes she has what it takes to go to Julliard. But they don't know that "the music" hasn't been part of her like it used to be. She loves her adopted family and her life with them, but she craves answer about the father she never knew. Why was he never part of her life?

When she returns from her time in Europe, she goes searching for the answers.

While I truly enjoyed this story, it felt like a good chunk of the book was, well, superfluous. I wish I could trim 30k words or so out of the middle and ask the author to extend the story beyond the end. While the family she meets and becomes friends with at the campground (and the ensuing beginning of romance) was cute, it was a side plot that ended up taking up the bulk of the book and didn't reach a satisfying conclusion (which was somewhat fitting but would have been better if there was less focus on it). I wish we got more time after Dell got some answers about her father to see her work through what she found out.

Super fast read. The premise was good but could have been developed more/better.

Great book! Loved each character and could visualize everything with her descriptions.

I enjoyed this Wingate book less than others she has written, especially the other three in this series. This fourth book left me feeling like the story wasn't finished.
