Good book, but a bit too meandering. Would have been better without the subplot.

a very fast read (the translation was terrific!)...i felt like there were some loose ends that weren't fleshed out but it was a good summer read...i think i'd try another book by this author...

Although this was the second Ann Lindell mystery I read, I had difficulty in keeping the various police officers straight. However, I am still interested and want to get to know them better. The crime story was complex, and I was unable to tell where the novel was going until the very end.

We read this book out loud - Will, Louise (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/9281934-louise) and I on a long road trip. Reading about the snowy Christmas in Sweden served to cool us down in the hot August weather. In true Agatha Christie fashion, there are lots of characters, any one of which has a motive for the crime. Sifting through the background information and keeping track of clues led us to many fun hours of speculation. I agree with Louise's review, including that the ending is somewhat unsatisfying.

Not a well plotted or good constructed story, you will be frustrated at the end. Lindell not required for this story , her intervention dragging and frustrating
