Thanks to the author and her publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a revierw.

Sapphic romance about a carreer-driven woman in a straight relationship discovering her queer destiny next to the woman of her dreams.

I generally love stories about people discovering they’re queer and them being on a path to discover their true selves and identities. A sapphic relationship definitely belongs in this category, but I was troubled and sometimes even frustrated reading the countless smut scenes.
I like a good spicy scene (eg. Neon Gods where they were separated by larger chunks of plot and genuine conversation), but the frequency and the many repeats of the same discriptions, just weren’t to my liking.

I did, however, like the relationships the main characters, Julie and Ann had with their relatives and friends and would have loved to read more about them.
Also the parts of the amusement parks really made me enjoy the story more. I discussed them with my boyfriend and we’ll visit these parks in the future.

I also thought it to be quite weird that Julie’s story of cheating on her boyfriend would be welcomed a lot less enthousiastically as told in the story. The way her boyfriend, Mark, took the news just didn’t seem realistically to me. The same goes for Julie’s parents and her brother’s points of view.

Maybe I’m just not much of a romance reader and I probably should stick with my historical fiction and coming-of-age genres, so that’s what I’ll do!
But If you’re a big romance reader and love to read a quick, beautifully written and fun, smut loaden sapphic novel, this might be a nice addition to your library!
