I sometimes think in frustration that being just another person in tech is meaningless, that just being another wire in the circuit of the internet is too insignificant. Then I read this:
“In a way, the internet connects us all together like the neurons in a giant brain. And with such an IQ, what cannot we be capable of?”
He’s RIGHT! Each neuron has such a specific and individualized function and purpose. It collectively functions to form connections and create meaning. We need every single one to arrive at a conclusion.
What an incredible Man. To use your last few breaths to speak utterly humbly to the future generation and inspire them to be dauntless, rather than bask in your incredible success and fame that has surrounded you all your life!
“So, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up. Unleash your imagination. Shape the future.”
I almost wish I was smarter just so I can appreciate him with greater depth.

Ich denke, man muss sich im Klaren sein, dass es sich hier um ein Buch von Hawking handelt. Das heißt, selbst wenn er versucht, Wissenschaft zu erklären, ist es immer noch unendlich kompliziert.
Was dieses Buch so eindrucksvoll macht, ist die Tatsache, dass er es in seinem letzten Lebensjahr geschrieben hat. Irgendwie schwingt es die ganze Zeit mit. Er sieht sein Leben auch als weitgehend abgeschlossen an und blickt hier und da auf Ereignisse in seinem Leben zurück.
Sicherlich kein großartiges Buch, aber im Kontext betrachtet gut.
