Can't say I enjoyed it and maybe I can't apreciate it without a passion for films(all movies references and quotes went over my head) and I can't say I was invested in the characters either. I did enjoy the end of the movie and I might have projected my own opinions on to it as a critique of capitalism when the old cinema is transformed into a chain and everything becomes very corporate.
I might have had high expectations from this book give it was highly praised for the women's fiction award.

I mixed feeling about this book, I did enjoyed this book but I didn't love it. Both the atmosphere and worldbuilding was okay but I would like it be flash out bit more. The writing was okay and the paced of plot was bit rush for my liking. The cover of book was fine and the characters was okay

Initially I was excited to read this based on the romanticism of cinema and knowing the cinema that it's based on and knowing the reality that it shows. But to be honest I just ended up feeling quite disgusted and resistant to sit in a cinema or eat anything they sell. And towards the end it was just really depressing.
