4.12 AVERAGE

2.5 stars. Audiobook.

Unfortunately, this installment in the series was a dip in quality and enjoyment for me. A new character we’re introduced to, Killer, lacks the subtle humor that we got in the previous books. Instead, the same joke was used over and over again and was less funny each time. There was also a disappointing lack of dragons in this book...
I didn’t dislike my experience while reading this, but I found myself thinking “okayyy this can be over now” which isn’t a very good sign.
Some positives were Morwen’s cats and their banter with the other characters. The exploration of magic in this book was also a lot of fun and the way it ended made me interested to hear what comes next.

I’ll definitely finish the last book in this series, but this one wasn’t my favorite.

So far this is the weakest book of the four. The author herself had said she didn’t want to write it. The whole thing feels forced. And this is not the viewpoint I signed up for.

I know we need Killer as he's how the story starts, but he's such an annoying character...the only reason the book is rated higher.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! That ending! It's a good thing I have book 4 waiting for me at home!

Anywho, as for this book, I loved it! It was fun to get more from Morwen's point of view, and I absolutely love Telemain, Killer, and the cats. Again I must bemoan that fact that I never read these books as a young fantasy lover. Oh well. At least I get to enjoy them now!

Utterly upsetting! Not because the book is bad, but because I hate the idea of Cimorene raising Daystar alone

Friend's drinking game (AKA how to die in the first 100 pages):
Take a shot whenever....
-Fiddlesticks talks about fish
-Telemain says something in magic jargon and then has to dumb it down (my addition: take an extra shot whenever dumbing it down isn't necessary)
-Killer complains he's hungry
