"I’m here for all of it. For all of her."

For the most part I enjoyed my time reading this; it's full of important themes and conversations, and I liked getting to know both protagonists and seeing their relationship develop. I was worried I wouldn't enjoy the all-in-a-day romance aspect, but I actually thought it was done really well. I also really liked the explorations of Duke's relationships with his siblings, and I thought the ending was clever and struck just the right tone.

What let this book down slightly for me was that at times it was slightly unbelievable or underexplained; I found the whole cat search party thing a bit ridiculous (and particularly Marva's lack of role in it), and it also didn't quite make sense why Duke wasn't able to vote in the first place (and this drives much of the plot). Also, on a smaller scale, I found it odd that there were so many incessant descriptions of exactly what they were doing whilst driving (I'm talking 'she pulled out of the car park, she turned left, she stopped at a traffic light' etc. ALL the time- why???).

I still found this to be a decent read overall, and to strike a great tone and balance between light and serious, and I'd potentially read more from the author in future; there were just some elements that didn't quite work for me.
