The story is over-the-top and dramatic, which fits the tone of the book absolutely perfectly. The art is flashy, bright, and reflects the dramatic tone in a way that really enhances the story.

There’s some lingo that I think is typical of this genre that I don’t quite understand. The real world is very real, but the physics are that of a video game. But this isn’t a virtual reality story. It’s very cool, but it’s not explained at all. Like I said, I think this might be typical of the genre and since I don’t read things like this often I’m a little in the dark, but it’s still noticeable.

The foils of Zephyr and Tartarus are very interesting — the gods are screwing with Zephyr, yet he’d be a fool not to take up their offer. Tartarus wants the chance to redeem himself and thus is satisfied with the arrangement. In a way, Tartarus needs Zephyr to succeed in gaining his strength so that he can get his rematch. This puts the two of them on the same thematic plane, even if they aren’t quite equals in might.

The story is pretty good! I like stories with religious themes, and this one was done well. While the religion aspect of the story isn’t developed super deeply, it serves as a nice backdrop to the action.

My only gripe with this story is that Zephyr is pretty pretentious, and while it does make sense for him it also gets annoying. Still, it didn’t really detract from my enjoyment, but it’s worth mentioning.

Overall, so much fun. Truly a wild ride with beautifully stunning artwork. The book is honestly worth it just for the art. While the story is pretty good, it’s the action and character art that make this book worthwhile.

this is very similar to solo leveling but not as in depth. i don’t know how i feel about it so far, it could end up going the same path or it could (hopefully) add a new view on this type of over powered main character storyline.

i’ll read the second book when it come out.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me review this arc for my personal opinion.

This was an action packed story! And I like the art style. That's about as much all the good I can say. The story's MC is pretty strong but he ends up being spoon fed to much by the gods, and him being sent back into the past to "redo" and save his loved ones felt a little weak sauce as a driving point. It's just basic.
I don't think I was its target audience maybe someone who is more masc minded or someone who liked Solo Leveling and DBZ
