i started reading this around 2 am in the morning and it was an addictive read. yes, it’s kind of like a bully romance but the bullying mostly comes from the side characters.

i very much enjoyed the plot. it was an addictive read really. it got me up awake wanting to read chapter every chapter. the characters are HOT. hopefully we’ll see more of them especially dax and chase. i love murder mystery, how it gradually becomes the main plot. but the lies man (which i do understand from their part)… the ending… i need some fucking grovelling from those men if i see them again.

Harlow’s mother accepts a job working for Samuel blacks family. This means they leave everything behind in Arizona and move to Connecticut to live with them. Harlow quickly realizes that the son of the family, Lincoln, already loathes her but she’s doesn’t know why. He and his friends (Dax, chase, and River) immediately paint a target on her back at school where they’re all seniors. One night they all witness a crime and it bonds them together….so we thought.

I wasn't feeling this book in the beginning. It took me a while to get past the bullying trope. Once I set the bullying aspects of the book aside, it was actually pretty good. I was completely thrown off by the twist! Did not see that coming at all. I didn't read the synopsis so I genuinely had no idea what to expect. The ending was a good cliffhanger as well. However, I don't like how they never addressed the bullying aspect of the novel. She just decided she like them and nothing was ever mentioned again.

What a bunch of fucking assholes, starting to bully her since the very first time they could, even though towards the end they where behaving better.
And of course that frickin cliffhanger and them not helping at all.

The ending annoyed me but ugh, I knew it was coming.

The Help is another RH book that I devoured in a short sitting. I thought it was interesting getting to see Harlow's little backbone. I mean the girl already kicked cancer's ass.. a bully means nothing to her right? Other than that, I really enjoyed that she was trying to help her mom out. I get that see saw how tough it was on her while she was dealing with cancer. I mean the whole money problem is no joke. So it was really sweet that she would help along financially. Doesn't mean she got to enjoy being a kid every now and then but it was really cute.

Other than her, you meet the guys. Ugh, dreamy asshole bully guys that magically fall in love with her. There is also some mystery going around and again, the ending really annoyed me with it. I really need to know what is going to happen next with her mom and the guys. I wonder if she's going to have her own revenge on the guys, take over her moms job until she gets out, or ignore the guys forever. I doubt the last one but there's still some hope to put them in their place.

Overall, where's the next book?
