I really wanted to like this but unfortunately, to me this read like a cringy and shallow barely-there-romance romance with characters that read as flat as cardboard..

Reading Throttled, I was left with the impression that all the characters really thought about and did was lust for each other, but at the same time they didn’t have much chemistry. I found it to be rather uninteresting when being horny for each other was the only real "developed" defining trait of the characters.

However, there were some moments, primarily in the last half of the story, that I found to be okay cute when looked at as isolated scenes.

I picked up Throttled because I was looking for a swoony and steamy romance set in the world around F1, which was why this book seemed to be a good fit as it was also quite popular. It didn’t have to be a complicated or intellectually complex read. However, to me, this book read as being barely cerebral at all…

Throttled just didn’t do it for me unfortunately, and I just couldn’t get on board.

God plays cruel jokes on me. Just when I promised to be good, he wants me to fall right into the arms of the devil. Men like Noah are only built for wickedness.

Oh this was such a really cute story, Noah and Maya were the cutest couple and I really loved the whole F1 aspect (although a little inaccurate, I don’t mind that much). It was nice to see the sports getting a spotlight between the story as well as the romance plot, it was also refreshing that it wasn’t a sport like hockey something completely different. Maya was extremely sweet but for once not in the annoying type, I loved watching her find her feet in her career and the fact that she chose a path that wasn’t what you would normally see in romance books was great! Slight spoiler but a man for once actually getting therapy to get better for himself and her, please can we see more of that in books. To be honest, I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and see the rest of the boys stories come to life!

read this purely because the mc is an F1 racer
