Good story and good end, I like the bickering between them and that they support each other

Good but not realistic.

where do i even start. first of all negative stars if i could. second of all i realize i cant read books about sports i actually watch because what do you MEANNNNNNN.
first of all, the dialogue was cringy as hell if a man ever spoke to me like that id file a restraining order. second of all the action was so unrealistic???? i hate that he refered to qualifying as "a qualifier" bc like nobody speaks like that, second of all the off brand brocedes of it all???, third WHY WOULD YOU WILLINGLY THROW A RACE DOES COMPETITION MEAN NOTHING TO YOU, fourth WHY WAS SHE SPEAKING TO HIM OVER TEAM RADIO THAT WOULD N E V E R HAPPEN DURING RACES HE IS GOING 200 MPH AND YOURE TALKING ABOUT QUICKIES LIKE WHO CARES ABOUT LAP TIME, TYRE WEAR, THE GAP TO THE CAR BEHIND YOU WE NEED TO HAVE A MAIN CHARACTER MOMENT OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD. its like the author has never watched a single race or kept up with a single race weekend and the fact that she assumes that that cringy ass radio would go viral and be met with POSITIVITY is the most "i've never interacted with the actual sport of F1 in my life" ass moment bc like girl... and i understand its fiction but like if your intended audience is F1 fans at least make it a little realistic or researched?????

*ok now that my anger has subsided let me actually go in depth*
my biggest problem with this book is the drive to survive-esque descriptions of F1 as a sport.
first of all nobody refers to a gp as a "prix". its a gp, grand prix, or a race if you call it a prix im assuming youre a bot. this is just a personal thing but i hate that he kept referring to qualifying as "my qualifier" or a qualifier but like nobody calls it that. Noah also says that his strategy to be successful and win is that he takes time to practice laps around the circuit to know every turn and his strategy like hate to break it to you babes but so does everyone else its literally free practice 1-3. also while we're on that, a driver will NEVER miss a practice round bc they overslept they have a call time and are there HOURS before practice or anything like that and have ppl in charge of getting them everywhere.
i understand for legal reasons we can't outright say he drives for Ferrari but we all know its ferrari. he's basically max verstappen's trauma with charles leclerc's face like his teammate is literally carlos sainz, i know this was written in 2020 before carlos was even in ferrari but still come on. i also don't think we should use max verstappen's childhood trauma as a pity moment for a mmc in a romance book that might be a woke take idk. also the temu nico rosberg and lewis hamilton????????
the thing that CONSTANTLY bothered me was the amount of people on the fucking radio. a team principal will NEVER get on the radio unless its necessary or youre toto wolff and they sure as hell not gonna tell you the gap to the car behind because thats your ENGINEER'S job. they will also NEVER let a significant other or family member or anything like that get on the radio and talk to a driver unless the race is alr over (see recently ad24 kevin magnussen) and the fact that the fmc went ON AND ON like babes theres a reason radio clips are 10 seconds max your driver should not be having full ass conversations with people on the radio he is driving 200 mph!!! he needs to focus!!!!
also the fact he threw a race because he wanted to make the fmc smile by having her brother win is absolutely insane. points and wins are everything in f1 no driver who cares the least bit about their career would throw a race like that for any reason whatsoever genuinely insane thing to have happen in your book.
besides all of that the romance itself was nothing to write home about noah was so unlikable and not in the way he was supposed to be and the fmc was genuinely so unbearable and was only spanish when it was convenient to have her drop random spanish every once in a while. also the fact she just becomes an f1 influencer straight out of college with no plan abt what she wanted to do after is kinda crazy idk. i hated this book so fucking bad
