pros -
  • i’m back in my F1 era because of this
  • where the fuck did you learn to suck cock so good?

cons -
  • reads like something you’d find in the episode app. iykyk.
  • my breasts grew heavy with need

miss author gurl please trust us readers to interpret and figure out what’s going on. no need to spell everything out. also.. kinda feel like the male character dialogue is unrealistic. like… she’s trying too hard to make it sound like how a guy thinks or talks

There is genuinely nothing redeemable or likeable about this book. Trust me ive really tried to come up with something. Maybe that its finally finished. Saying this book is comparable to wattpad is offensive to wattpad.

Okay there would be something good in this book and thats the MMC forming a found family with the MFC's family, considering he didn't have a good relationship with his own. It is always heartwarming to see families combining and becoming really close. This COULD HAVE been good, but terrible characters and writing will ruin it ofc.

All the characters were juvenile and the worst people ever. It so so noticeable with series like this that characters are just there for the sake of having another book about them. It makes them so annoying because they all need to have this 'quirk' about them to make readers excited for their book. Like we have the bad boy, the flirt, the british one, and the heartbroken one. kill me.

Another ridiculous thing about this is the same four men were constantly rotating on the podium. I’m sorry but what happened to all the other drivers? What’s the point of them even being there lol? There was only one time that Noah was like 14th place (starting off but I think he got to the podium anyway) but all the other times it seemed as thought he race way between them and no one else. How boring and strange.

Noah the MMC was the worst person ever I have no positive things to say about this man id cross the street if i saw him walking toward me. The first impression we get of this guy is him kicking a woman out of his bed after sleeping with her and not remembering her name or caring about his feelings at all. Okay already a bad start but maybe this was a once in a life time thing? Nope! After GOING ON A FIRST DAY WITH THE MFC, THE SAME DAY HE DOES THE SAME THING SLEEPING WITH A NAMELESS WOMAN. Like what?? thats just unforgivable and shows his lack of morals or respect for women its just disgusting.

I know people absolutely die over dual perspective and being able to experience the pining from the MMC's point of view but i think it can absolutely ruin the book for me. Especially if hes disrespectful and checking out MFC in a totally inappropriate and non-mutual way. This book is basically like im going to be absolutely misogynistic to every other woman in my life, including my own mother, but im gonna make an exception to this one girl who i still see as my property but I won't call her things like slut or gold digger. Oh and im also going to get mad at other men for noticing women exist, even though im doing the exact same thing. I dont get at all how its appealing. Every man in this universe is absolutely abhorrent i pray for everyone. My boyfriend said that the real life driver people keep saying this guy is based on in the sweetest guy ever (a "baby" was his words lol) so I would have much preferred a golden retriver then this weird bad boy type.

The worst thing about the MMC is his weird daddy and mummy issues that he brings up in his inner monologue every chapter. It didn't add depth or character it just made him feel superior because he had this shit childhood and that gave him an excuse to be a messed up human. Like I get wanting a brooding and demon-fighting and inner tortured MMC, but when the MMC keeps talking about how tormented they are it takes away the effect and makes it entirely performative andhe's written like that for the sake of it. Anyway the portrayal of the parents was so sloppy and just cartoonish. I dont know what it is aboout making dads to be absolute dicks but its something thats happened in every book ive read by this author.

It was also laughable how he went to therapy for one chapter (also mentioning how he had to go to multiple sessions a week because of how bad he had it aww boo hoo) and then it was never mentioned again. Okay mate talk about tokenistic therapy lol. Had no impact on his behaviour at all. I don't know about you but i dont find men going to therapy inherently sexy or appealing, especially considering they dont have the right attitude towards it or a misconception that its a thing you go to and you can magically speedrun.

Now the MFC Maya just came across as dumb and like she didn't have any brain cells. She had no social or self-awareness. Like she would say something that a normal character would find embarrassing, but then she would just go on as if she was unaware of the way she was coming across. It was just bizarre because it wasn't like shes was portrayed as a clumsy or ditsy character or anything. Also if i took a shot for how many times she scrunched her nose at someone id probably be dead. I dont know why her little side hustle of being a youtuber was added, like taking a gap year to follow your brother around on his f1 career I think is reason enough. It added nothing but cringe when she would interview the characters and i could feel the awkwardness through the page.

The romance sucked like there was no GOOD build up at all, just unnecessary pages. They would admire each other but then never really talk? and if they did it wasn't flirtatious (imo). So it goes from zero to 100 and makes me realise i wasted my time. Another gross trait of the MMC is that he would kiss the MFC without any indication of consent. Like okay I dont need verbal consent but the MFC hadn't even given obvious body language or signs at all. I think it might be down to the authors terrible writing and not able to gradually build up to kissing like stepping closer, holding eye contact, hand touch blah blah. So it just felt icky to me.

Another issue with the pacing is that the author moved the story along with phrases like "as two weeks passed", "i havent seen Noah in a month", as if thats meant to build tension and make the romance have a more convincing timeline. And she did this a lot to the point where i gave up even remembering what time we are in. It also doesn't work because us as readers are not experiencing this skipped time so their relationship feels the same as it did 10 minutes real time ago, but 2 weeks their time.

The only conflict in the book was Maya's brother finding out that she's dating his rival. First of all they werent rivals they were literally on the same team and they did not act like enemies whatsoever when thats literally a major part of the blurb. Anyway obviously this is resolved and has no consequences at all so again what was the point. Speaking of the brother why would he be able to control her life anyway? They had a really weird relationship and always hanging around each other. Santi never seemed to go out with anyone of his own friends either.

Talking about weird relationships, i really did not believe the friendship between sophie and Maya. This is soo soo soo wattpad where the MFC meets a random girl and then they proclaim to be besties after knowing each other for five minutes. Its just not genuine or convincing, sophie was always meddling around it was weird. But shes written to be a next main character because of course she is.

yeah this might have put me off the author all together im so glad i waited for this to go on sale because it was an anticipated read for me so i escaped that extra disappointment of wasting more money.

A really fun, cute romance set in the F1 season. Absolutely loved maya and noah, I was obsessed with them!! And the spice was soo hot!! There were a couple of problematic things here that did make me feel uncomfortable, the age gap, although I really didn't think noah acted like he was 30 so in my head he was 25 hahah, and also how he treated the women he had one night stands with grossed me out too. But at the end of the day it is just a light hearted fun romance that isn't that deep and I really enjoyed reading this🩷 looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I think it’s ironic that I DNF a book about formula 1

Omg WHYYYYY did I wait so long to start this series?! Wow this is spicyyyy and the banter is top notch. I love everything about this.

This was so bad pls. The tension was the only good thing but even that didn't last long
