I don’t like the characters and don’t want to finish a book I don’t enjoy.

If I had to summarize this story with one word I would choose sticky. I don't even know what else I should say about this atmospheric, kind of disturbing fever dream like story other than I need to read more by Daisy Johnson.

I would say a 4,5/5. I adored this book.
First, I wasn't expecting it to be so suspenseful and enthralling. I was expecting it to be just another book. Second, I was caught off guard by the ending. Of course you can feel the growing tension, but I didn't see the story going that way.
Also, the writing is incredible, specially the fluctuations of speed between relaxed and tense moments on the first person narrations chapters.
What kept me from giving it a full 5* was the third person chapters, which I thought were a bit unnecessary and sometimes misplaced.
