If I had to summarize this story with one word I would choose sticky. I don't even know what else I should say about this atmospheric, kind of disturbing fever dream like story other than I need to read more by Daisy Johnson.

Sisters is a suspenseful, almost gothic story of two sisters with a parasitic bond. Although I predicted the major twist early on, I remained engrossed in the novel due to its language, unique imagery, and portrayal of the sisters' dangerous yet seemingly innocent rituals and relationship. I've never read another book quite like this and am definitely interested in exploring more from this author. I would recommend this book to other readers who enjoy off-putting character studies that push the limits of reality.

I liked the way this was written even if I guessed the ending before I hit page 40. It was a really fast read and kept my attention along the way, so I didn’t mind much. I won’t summarize it in case it spoils anything, just know it’s a slow-burn thrilleresque story written well enough that you can still enjoy it when you guess the twist.
