This book was a wonderful experience. I can already tell this is one I’ll think about for a long while, it was thought-provoking and the story itself unique and profound. It is both a reflection on one’s life and on humanity as a hole, and how changes- even something as simple as a kindness- can change a person’s life.

I will not lie and say I didn’t cry reading this. Especially the beginning and ending. It’s a story I feel, has to be read at a slower pace. Over the course of a week, maybe a month. I especially found the middle portion of the book quite slow and repetitive, but it’s necessary for the ending so I can’t fault it all that much, and each little flicket of Nora’s life we gain a better insight into who she is, or could’ve been.

To conclude, do I recommend this book? Yes, definitely.

This book was a really lovely meditation on what makes a life worth living. Even though it could get a little preach-y at times, Nora was a relatable protagonist who wasn’t nearly as much of a failure as she told herself she was. Spoiler alert: It’s amazing to watch her fight her way through depression and start to understand her own worth. Fans of Everything, Everywhere All at Once might like this novel.
