Playboy Playmaker is the fourth and final book in the Totally Pucked series. This can be read as a standalone, however it's best to read from the very beginning. I've said this time and time again, but THIS series is soooo good! It's a bittersweet ending to the Totally Pucked series, but I'm definitely anticipate what Maren has in store for us!

I really liked this book and was sad to see one of my fave book universes end. But I have to say, I wish Care was a bit older, maybe 25? Because I feel like a 20 year old girl doesn't have that many things in common with a 33 year old man :(

But they were very cute at times and it was a nice ending to the Totally Pucked series.

I would also like to add that it surprised me that there was surprise pregnancy trope in this books hahah, it was definitely different :)

Thank you Maren for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review :)

Hudson is the one of the last single men in his group of friends and lately has been thinking about life after hockey. Caroline is the coaches estranged daughter who comes back to town. They meet one night, not knowing who the other person is and it’s a night neither of them can forget. When they learn of each other’s existence, they agree to never speak of that night again. But we all know that it never works out like it’s suppose to

OH MY GOD.

i have to admit, i walked into reading this arc having absolutely no idea if i would like Maren's writing style because this is the first book of hers that i've read, but i absolutely LOVED it.

this book was a super fast and easy read, and i appreciated knowing that it could easily be read as a standalone. the plot itself was to die for, and the spice was everything i could've imagined and more. Hudson and Caroline truly were a match made in heaven and I loved their banter; i feel like it added so much to their characters and story.

now that i have read this (and WILL DIE RECOMMENDING IT), i will definitely be going back and reading the other books in the Totally Pucked series, and all of Maren's other books!

This started off very hot and interesting in the beginning. As the story started to unfold it lost its steam. There were plenty of sexy scenes but they didn’t really add to the story. I just didn’t believe in this couple and their overall romance. I understood that they were hot for each other, but I didn’t believe they actually loved each other. The heroine came off as too young and she was definitely annoying at times. While the hero was whining all the time about being lonely and ready for more in his life. It was almost like he had too much depth and the heroine was lacking depth.

Overall they just didn’t vibe together for me. Separately they were fine but something was just off. The writing was easy to read and this was somewhat interesting, looking forward to another story from this author even though I didn’t love this one.

Hudson might be the hockey boyfriend of all hockey boyfriends. Oh boy, like he’s such a perfect book boyfriend and I love him. He falls first will always be such an elite trope!

He’s so mature, I love how he spoke to Caroline (so many amazing quotes!), how he owned his past and his actions and how he just knew she was it for him !! I’ll wait for you !!

The spice in this is immaculate! There’s so much of it and it’s so hot and well written!

Reading this series Hudson had always been one of my favorite side characters, so I was definitely excited for his story to come along. I was so sad that this series was coming to an end but Maren Moore closed this series out PERFECTLY! Reading this story, we get a look into how all the guys from The Totally Pucked Series are doing, giving the series closure without that taking over Hudson and Carolines story.

I could write pages of my love for Hudson and Caroline that’s how much I loved their characters. Every man Maren writes just gets better and better and their dirty talk gets even nastier!
Caroline is hands down my favorite female character from this series. I love how driven she is!
Another positive for me is how Hudson and Caroline’s story moved along quickly time wise without it seeming choppy and like we were missing out on things and parts of their story.

I am so happy with how Maren finished this series even if I want to go cry because it’s over and I love the men of the Chicago Avalanche!
