I love all the snark and humor and humanity for the undead that comes with all of characters in Half-Moon Hollow. This is no exception. This novella let's us see behind the mask that is Ophelia the vamp who terrorized the world (human and vamps alike) for centuries. She is sentenced to attend University of Kentucky as punishment for attempting to off her competition and misappropriating funds of the Undead council. She really feels tortured as she is forced to share a room with a recently turned goth. Her only sanity is her boyfriend and vamp Jamie but even he is not around so what is a girl to do? And that is where the hilarity began. Being a vamp for over 400 year after being turned in her late teens Ophelia has no clue how to fit in with teens and young adults of this century without torture. I would have like more of her story but this was great read
Ophelia's story - short, 96 page novella giving a small glimpse in to Ophelia's world and why she is who she is. There was on open thread that I am hoping will be picked up on in the next novel.
This is less of a self-contained novella and more of a short transition/introduction to campus life and Ophelia's new friends in the dorm, I mean residence hall.
Ophelia is one of my favorite characters, she is pretty old but she is young too I know that kind of contradicts itself. But she really hasn’t been able to be young, now she is getting the chance to do what people her again ( not actual age ) do.
She and her man are still going strong but she needs to find out who she is without him or her sister. She gets to find friends, and be a girl. It really is a great little side story.
Love Amanda’s narration!

3.5 Stars.
Very enjoyable read. I actually like Ophelia. It has a bit on an abrupt ending, though. And the sneak peek of a book that isn't even available yet is downright diabolical.

I expected more. Ophelia came across as petty and immature and insecure in ways that weren't charming to me in quite the same way as when she wasn't a college student. This story also reiterated a lot so much was a summary of previous books. I wanted more action and more adventure on her part. Instead, she was a 400-year-old angsty freshman.
I love this series. I started in the middle, but since the next book features Jane and Dick, I decided to start from the beginning. I'm glad I did.
I'm loving the new Ophelia!!!

How will Ophelia adjust to living in a dorm room now that she has been banished from the Council and forced to matriculate at college with Jamie? Communal showers! Horrible, pretentious roommates! Humans who try to be FRIENDS! The horror!
Finally, a story for Ophelia! I love Jamie- he is so loyal to Ophelia.
It was fun to see her story arc. Making friends in college is not something you would think would happen for a mean 300-year-old vampire.
