I received this book as a free ARC and all words in this review are my honest opinion. This was an interesting book with an intriguing premise! As soon as I read the blurb, I knew I wanted to read this book!
I enjoyed our FMC, Sloane, as she is strong and feisty and smart and strong-willed and an excellent fighter. She can take care of herself and she knows it, and she doesn't allow others to treat her as if she can't. I love her parents and how supportive and strong they are and how they know what she is capable of and let her do what she wants and what she needs to do. Their interactions are sweet and loving and fun and they seem like the perfect apocalypse family.
This story was interesting and full of betrayal and madness and interesting plot points, but I was not expecting an RH romance going into this! I was pleasantly surprised and actually liked that aspect, but I was confused when the first (what I thought was) non-central POV came into the story because I was not aware of it being RH.
