I listened to the audiobook! It was challenging to track it at sometimes but if you stick to it, it will be worth it! The fantastical elements are very much rooted in reality. It was fun to jump to different characters that have interacted with each other bc you get a in depth look at who they are from inside and out.

Wow. Needed a map to keep track of all the interconnected characters but loved this. Someone told me, if you're thinking of reading Lovecraft Country, read this instead. I made the mistake of reading both, but this is definitely the superior book.

Ugh I am really disappointed that I listened to this instead of reading it with my eyeballs. The narrator was so good, but the book was written in a way where the audio unfortunately didn’t work for me. There was a lot of moving parts - stream of consciousness writing, character changes, and different monsters. Some of the storylines seemed a little under cooked compared to others. This book was very intersectional, which I really appreciated! I just thought it was way too hard to follow in the audio format.
